About our school

Yick Wo Elementary School is a public school serving the North Beach and Chinatown neighborhoods in San Francisco. The school, located on Lombard and Jones Streets, is home to some 250 local children of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.

We received California Distinguished School awards in 1997 and 2000 and a federal Blue Ribbon award in 2005.

Besides a rich academic program, the school offers enrichment programs including an Orff music program, Dance in the Schools with the S.F. Ballet, Outdoor Education, and classes in art, performing arts, physical education, and poetry.
